The AIFD Education Committee continues to enhance understanding of floral design terminology through monthly examples in Focal Points, based on the Third Edition of The AIFD Guide to Floral Design: Terms, Techniques, & Traditions. Notably, the term Flatlay refers to arranging botanical and floral items on a flat surface for an overhead photograph. For additional resources, visit the American Institute of Floral Designers or purchase the guide through Schifferbooks.
The AIFD Education Committee is continuing to provide concepts and examples of the terminology provided in the Third Edition of The AIFD Guide to Floral Design: Terms, Techniques, & Traditions. Please see examples of two (2) of the principles below.
Every month in Focal Points, the committee will share more examples to expand on new terminology. If you would like to purchase the latest (Third Edition) of the Guide, please visit here: The AIFD Guide to Floral Design – Schifferbooks.
