Supermarket Pre-Cooked Thanksgiving Meals Trending Up

If you’d rather spend more of Thanksgiving with your loved ones than at the stove, several supermarket chains have some options that can make that possible.

Some, like the Sunbury, Pa.-based Weis Markets, offer a precooked dinner featuring turkey, stuffing, potatoes, vegetables and a pie that would feed six to eight people, with a larger size available.

“Over the years, we’ve seen demand for this grow. There are a lot of people out there who simply don’t have the time to cook or don’t want to cook, and this is a very good option,” said Dennis Curtin, director of public relations for Weis Markets. “We’ve done this off and on for at least 10 years, but every year it’s trended upwards. It’s just a huge segment of our overall Thanksgiving business.”
