Clovis-based Southwest Cheese earned 13 medals, including five gold, during the 2016 World Championship Cheese Contest in Madison, Wisconsin.
Southwest Cheese Plant Manager Eric Denton said in a decade of competition, the plant never won more than three medals in any contest.
Denton said Southwest Cheese has been competing in the event, which was held March 7-10, for 10 years.
