The husband and wife team of Tony and Julie Hook formed Hook’s Cheese Company and began producing cheese in 1976. Now in Mineral Point, Wis., their unique facility is well known for producing incredible aged cheddars. But before the cheddars, it was in 1982 that their Colby won the “Best of Class” award in the World Cheese Championship. It was then judged against the winners of all the other classes and it was judged the “Finest Cheese in the World.” Today, they make more than 50 different types of cheese, and on a recent visit with the Hooks, we discovered this beauty.
