Plymouth, Wisconsin – Sartori Cheese announced that they have been presented with five awards, including two first place finishes, at the 2013 Wisconsin State Fair Cheese and Butter Contest. One of the nation’s most competitive and prestigious regional cheese competitions, the contest included nearly 300 of the Dairy State’s best cheeses.
Coming in on top was Sartori’s Classic Asiago cheese. This victory for Sartori Classic Asiago comes on the heels of the 2013 U.S. Championship Cheese Contest in March where it’s older cousin, Extra Aged Asiago, was named “Best Asiago” in the United States.
Also taking home first place was Sartori’s Espresso BellaVitano®. An internationally award winning cheese recognized for its innovative spirit, Espresso BellaVitano features a smoky coffee rind that compliments the sweet, tangy flavors of BellaVitano cheese.
Finally, the artisan cheesemaker also finished with three additional awards including a second place finish for both Limited Edition Pastorale Blend® and Chai BellaVitano and a third place finish for Balsamic BellaVitano.
“It is a great honor to be recognized at the State Fair across a variety of our handcrafted cheese,” says Jim Sartori, CEO. “Winning with a range of cheese from traditional flavors like Classic Asiago to our originals like the BellaVitanos and the mixed milk Pastorale Blend is a humbling experience and a testament to the dedication and hard work of our team.”
