Master cheese maker Chris Renard and the cheese-making team of Renard’s Cheese took home three medals from the 36th annual American Cheese Society competition held July 31-Aug. 3 in Richmond, Virginia.
The competition included 1,742 entries from 257 companies representing 35 states, four Canadian provinces, Mexico and Brazil. Renard’s was one of 34 Wisconsin cheese and dairy companies that won awards. Badger State competitors earned 28 percent of all awards.
Renard won a first-place award for Whips, a second-place award for Farmer’s Cheese with Pesto, and a third-place award for String Cheese.
