Two Florida-based grocers have launched new social media campaigns recently in an effort to better connect with shoppers.
Lakeland-based Publix Supermarkets debuted a new Twitter initiative this week. The grocery chain, which is relatively new to Twitter, unveiled the hashtag "#PublixCheese." Publix fans can follow the hashtag on Twitter for updates about the company's cheese buying process, and where Publix representatives go to find the cheese Publix sells in stores.
beef peopleOne recent posts encourages Twitter followers to retweet a photo of cheese curds, which were sampled at a Wisconsin farm that is one of the grocer's suppliers. Publix does not carry cheese curds in stores at this time.
