Prince Edward Island's Glasgow Glen Farm Officially Open For Business

NEW GLASGOW — Glasgow Glen Farm has officially opened its cheese making facility in New Glasgow.

Combined government funding of $269,500 helped Glasgow Glen Farm open its new operation, which will allow the company to grow its product line and create new artisan cheeses that were not already available in the province, as well continue to make the famous “Cheese Lady’s Gouda”.

Federal Fisheries and Oceans Minister Gail Shea announced that Ottawa is providing funding of $85,000. Agriculture and Forestry Minister George Webster says the P.E.I. government provided an additional $34,500 and Finance P.E.I. provided a term loan of $150,000 to support this expansion.
