Cincinnati, Ohio – Daelia’s Food Company, Ltd. of Cincinnati, Ohio is launching a new flavor of their Daelia’s Biscuits for CheesePUMPKIN SEED with RYE. The new biscuit is a departure from the other two flavors Almond with Raisin and Hazelnut with Fig. It contains no dried fruit but is savory instead. It is made with almonds, pumpkin seeds, caraway seeds and rye flour. This biscuit pairs well with Alpine style cheeses such as Gruyere and Comte as well as those beloved stinky washed rind cheeses and earthy soft ripened cheeses such as Camembert. “We wanted to create a biscuit that would work well with earthier cheeses. One that wasn’t as sweet as our other two flavors.” Says founder Maria Walley, “We always wanted to do something with rye flour and seeds”
Pumpkin seeds, otherwise known as pepitas, are growing in popularity as people discover their versatility. They are sweet and nutty and are truly a “new world” product. The Native American Indians treasured them for their flavor and medicinal value.
The Pumpkin Seed with Rye biscuits are packaged in a pumpkin orange film and are available in 12/4oz packs or 24/4oz packs. Each case comes with merchandising sleeves for retail displays. The suggested retail price is $5.95 per unit.
