Minnesota Dairy Farmer Hopes Cheeses From Farmstead Creamery Will Turn Heads

As a high school senior, Alise Sjostrom was part of a 4-H dairy trip to Crave Brothers Farmstead Cheese in southern Wisconsin.

She was fascinated to see milk being piped under the road from the Craves’ dairy barn directly to their cheese plant.

“I’ve kind of surrounded myself with cheese ever since,” she said.

After much planning and learning, Sjostrom and her husband, Lucas, along with her parents, Jerry and Linda Jennissen, will open a $500,000 cheese plant on their central Minnesota farm later this spring.
