Michigan's Old Europe Cheese Satisfies Appetite For Cheese

BENTON HARBOR — Every day trucks deliver about 36,000 gallons of milk from local farms to Old Europe Cheese in Benton Harbor.

"All the milk received today will be transformed tomorrow," said Francois Capt, manager of the specialty cheese plant.

The plant produces 6.5 million pounds of cheese every year, including Brie, Camembert, Gouda, Edam and Fontina. And that cheese is sold all over the United States and Mexico under the brand name Reny Picot.
