Alain Sinturel, owner and founder of Les Trois Petits Cochons, has announced a new management structure at the 40-year-old pate and charcuterie company. As he plans for his eventual retirement, Sinturel has brought in a partner, David Kemp, in the role of CEO. Sinturel, who will remain on as founder and chairman of the newly established board of directors, will focus on research and development and quality control.
“Taking on a partner allows me to maintain my role as founder and continue my work in recipe development and R&D, the area in which I excel the most,” said Sinturel, a French chef who founded the company in New York's Greenwich Village in 1975 with Jean Pierre Pradié. “After building this company for over 40 years, it is important to me to still be a part of it. Also, as chairman of the board, I will make sure we continue to do the work we have always done. We’ve built a solid reputation of making authentic, high-quality pate and charcuterie and making certain this tradition will continue is of the utmost importance to me. David has a keen business sense and sharp eye for opportunity. He is the right person to lead the company into the future.”
In addition to the inclusion of “new blood” to the team, Sinturel added that the partnership brings an “investment toward our R&D department that will open up new opportunities for us in areas which we were not able to pursue before.”
