Sonoma, CA – Laura Chenel’s introduces a new line of fresh chèvre medallions with five distinct flavors, ranging from Poppy Seed & Peppercorn to Fig & Grapefruit. Rounding out this assortment of 3.5-ounce goat cheeses is Sun-dried Tomato & Basil, Chives & Shallots, and Original Chèvre.
The small, disk-shaped cheeses in the Medallion Collection have been created to provide an accessible retail price for tasty, healthy goat cheeses, while offering convenience, a variety of usage options, and a wide array of fresh flavors for new and current chèvre consumers alike.
The small format is a perfectly sized ‘grab & go’ item, and the easy-to-open pull tab enhances the practicality of the product, making it user-friendly and avoiding waste when a smaller amount of cheese is desired. The range of flavors allows for a nice variety on a cheeseboard, while pleasing the palate of many at the same time.
As with all Laura Chenel’s award-winning cheeses, the full line of 3.5-ounce Medallion Collection of cheeses is made using only fresh goat milk from nearby farms in the western region of the U.S. The high-quality goat cheese is then mixed with a variety of ingredients, offering a tantalizing line-up of flavor sensations:
Poppy Seed & Peppercorn: Crushed peppercorns liven up the fresh chèvre by adding a slightly hot yet sweet flavor, while the poppy seeds bring a nutty flavor with a light, playful crunch.
Fig & Grapefruit: The sweetness of fig pairs beautifully with the bright tang of grapefruit and that of the goat’s milk.
Sundried Tomato & Basil: The savory sun-dried tomato flavor is counter-balanced by the subtle basil and green pepper notes – enhancing the clean, creamy mouthfeel of the fresh goat cheese.
Chives & Shallots: Shallots add a hint of sweetness to the fresh goat cheese flavor, while the chives’ herbaceous taste offers notes of springtime.
Original: Famous for its rich-tasting, bright citrusy tang, flavors are enhanced thanks to a careful, balanced amount of salt.
“We’ve noticed that consumers are drawn more and more to fresh products in smaller packages, and this is for several reasons,” states Zachary Pass, Laura Chenel’s National Sales Manager. “The price point is surely a key factor, but also concerns of food waste, freshness, and convenience all come into play. We’re excited that our new Medallion Collection of fresh goat cheeses addresses each and every one of these top-of-mind issues,” Pass concludes.
Laura Chenel’s Medallion Collection of 3.5-ounce fresh goat cheeses, available in five (5) flavors, will have a Suggested Retail Price of $3.49 per unit.
