MALONE, Wis — In a move aimed squarely at bolstering consumer convenience, LaClare Family Creamery is expanding its offerings with sliced goat cheeses.
The family-operated farm — a leader in making hard- and aged-goat cheeses — now offers Cheddar, Mozzarella, and Jack varieties in peggable packages containing six 1-oz. slices.
“We not only want to produce the cheese that people savor, we want them to eat it in the manner they enjoy the most,” said LaClare Head Cheesemaker Katie Fuhrman. “Snack and single-serving options are one of the fastest growing segments and
we intend to bring quality goat cheese to the forefront.”
The 700-goat farm — a multi-generational enterprise operated by two generations of the Hedrich family — is known for producing award-winning goat cheese, yogurt and fluid milk.
According to Fuhrman:
- LaClare’s complex cheddar adds extra flavor to sandwiches or can be conveniently served on a cheese board.
- LaClare Mozzarella is a mild, creamy, beautifully meltable cheese. It is delicious on pizza and grilled cheese sandwiches. The goat milk offers a subtly more complex tasting experience.
- LaClare’s Jack has a rich buttery mouth feel and becomes increasingly creamy and flavorful with age.
