UNION CITY, CA – La Terra Fina’s new General Manager and Chief Operating Officer Tim Ramsey has aggressive plans to grow the company in 2012. John Harrington is the new Director of Marketing. The new Directors of Sales positions have been filled by Cindy Hess, East; and Steve Ihme, West.
Ramsey said part of his growth strategy will be focused on boosting the natural foods company’s marketing and sales efforts.
“With our new sales and marketing directors, we are strategically positioned for major expansion in retail markets across the U.S.,” Ramsey said. “We have recently expanded our quality line of all-natural refrigerated products. There are tremendous sales and marketing opportunities that lie ahead for La Terra Fina.”
Harrington is charged with managing the portfolio of La Terra Fina branded products. In this leadership role he will develop, implement and manage annual strategic, financial and marketing brand plans as well as take an active role in new product launches. His duties will include consumer promotions, advertising, public relations, analysis and P&L.
Most recently, Harrington served as Director of Marketing at Safeway Inc., in Pleasanton, CA. In this post he was responsible for the Shopper Marketing strategic planning and brand activation for Safeway’s consumer brands’ portfolio.
Harrington has directed the marketing efforts for a variety of small to large food companies since the 1990s. He earned a B.S. in Economics and Business Administration from Iowa State University, Ames, IA and an MBA in Marketing at Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH.
The Directors of Sales team members are responsible for coordinating and directing the retail sales efforts for all brands of La Terra Fina and in all classes of trade. The primary responsibilities for Hess and Ihme will be to maximize company sales while maintaining and expanding acceptable gross profit margins. They are also in charge of developing and managing the activities of subordinates and third-party brokers.
Hess formerly worked at Schwans Food Company as a Senior Sales Director in Salisbury, N.C. While at Schwans Food, she successfully managed a new go to market business strategic initiative for the organization and she managed a 15-person sales team. Hess received a B.S. in Marketing at Florida State University.
Prior to joining La Terra Fina, Ihme was the Customer Business Manager at WhiteWave Foods in Broomsfield, CO. He also served 16 years at Kraft Foods. Ihme earned his Associate of Applied Science in Sales Management and Small Business Management at Aims Community College.
