Italian Cheese Made Only In Eau Galle

Does the phrase "Eau Galle Italian" mean anything to you? It should.

Eau Galle Italian is one of four Italian-style hard cheeses made from local milk by the Eau Galle Cheese Factory.

Leo Buhlman, a cheesemaker trained in Switzerland, founded Eau Galle Cheese in Eau Galle in 1945 and began specializing in Italian cheeses around 1960. Leo's son and daughter-in-law, John and Carol Buhlman, still own and operate the plant, now located two miles north of Durand.

The Buhlmans and their talented employees produce more than 9 million pounds of mostly Italian cheeses per year and sell nearly all of it wholesale.
