Houston, TX – Edible Software will be answering the call from The Specialty Food Foundation (www.specialtyfoodfoundation.org) to volunteer during Embrace Hunger Relief week, April 27-May 1. A team of 5 from different divisions in the company will meet at the Houston Food Bank on May 1st to help sort, package, and clean food for local distribution and help with generally anything that is requested by the coordinators.
“We should all look for time in our lives to volunteer for our communities through social programs we believe in,” says Trevor Morris, CEO at Edible Software. “Some of us choose different organizations to support, and I am thrilled that I had no trouble receiving volunteers to help out at the Houston Food Bank.” Last year, a team from Edible Software was able to volunteer and we all learned a great deal about how food bank distribution works, and the people impacted by the service.
The Specialty Food Foundation called for companies within the Specialty Food Association to volunteer at various events around the country. Various cities have food bank volunteer groups open and you can view the week’s schedule online. Those who wish to support the Specialty Food Foundation can also donate online at www.specialtyfoodfoundation.org.
