CHICAGO, IL – Champion Industries, manufacturer of a full line of premier commercial warewashing systems for over 100 years, is proud to announce their standing as Food Service Consultants Society (FCSI) recipient of the Americas Education Provider of the Year award for 2009 given at the 2010 FCSI Conference in Minneapolis in March. Champion was one of 37 FCSI Education Providers under consideration.
Each year, consultant members of FCSI attend educational sessions offered by Approved Education Providers and complete an evaluation of the program. The results of those surveys are then used by the FCSI Council for Professional Standards in determining the "Education Provider of the Year." Past recipients have included Wood Stone Corporation, Vulcan Hart, Halton, Enodis, Hatco Corporation, and Alto-Shaam.
"Champion has epitomized the intent behind the FCSI Educational Provider Program, which is to offer our consultants helpful, accessible, educational content to foster excellence in their businesses,” says Karen Malody, MSW, FCSI Culinary Options. “They were always asking consultants what they needed. After listening, and with amazing turn-around time, quality programs were created to allow our members to receive desired information and tools to assist them with client work. The webinar/webcast approach was extremely helpful, to many of our consultants who cannot afford time away from their offices for days at a time. In addition, Champion traveled to various parts of the country to offer shorter seminars, literally meeting their audience half way. All of this, coupled with the articulate, relevant materials provided, caused FCSI to not just appreciate the effort, but also acknowledge it via the Provider of the Year Award."
“With well over 100 FCSI and non-FCSI consultants participating in webinars and factory, field or office-based webcasts, winning this award is an incredible honor,” states Suzanne Painter-Supplee, CFSP, MHS LEED AP Director Consultant Services, Champion Industries.
FCSI – The Americas, enjoys the active participation of many corporate member companies in offering educational seminars to consultant members that contribute to the FCSI Continuing Professional Growth program. Using criteria developed by the FCSI Council for Professional Standards, FCSI – The Americas, approves educational content and certifies corporate member companies as “Approved Education Providers.” Champion Industries’ program topics include: LEED 3.0, dish machine sizing and application, Energy Modeling/Analysis and Warewashing design.
“Champion provided one of the best factory courses I’ve ever been to in terms of information provide and how it relates to our industry,” says Reggie Daniel, President, Daniel Design Inc., who took the Leed 3.0 course and attended the factory trip. “It was general enough to provide information about every manufacturer’s machine but it was done in such a way that attendees could take their format to connect with some very positive numbers to show potential clients the machine they were getting would be beneficial.”
Aside from regularly scheduled programming in the US and Canada, Champion also provides customized programs, in as little as 90 minutes in length, upon request. All programs are approved for Continuing Education Units (CEU's) ranging from 1.5 – 8. FCSI’s EPP rules mandate that programming may not be brand-specific, and are thus all about education.
