Carolina Mountain Cheese Fest Draws A Crowd, Even In The Rain

An afternoon in Asheville, celebrating all things cheese: The Carolina Mountain Cheese Fest took place at Highland Brewing on Sunday, featuring local artisan cheese makers–and lots of cheese.

There were workshops and demonstrations, along with ideas for pairing cheese with other foods, and even a chance to visit with some of the animals that provide the main ingredient.

Even in the rain, cheese ensured a good turnout.

"One thing that's really great about this is, the people that show up are really committed. So, they show up because they love cheese, they know these cheese makers are an important part of our economy and their food world," said Cheese Fest director Katie Moore.
