Belle Chevre Celebrates Expanding Family Of Products

Belle Chevre expanded its family last year with the addition of two wildly successful new products: DIY Cheese Kits and Goat Cheese Cheesecakes. The market welcomed these products, introduced in the fourth quarter of 2012, and they’ve already been heralded as the hot new foodie item by the likes of The Today Show and Food52.

2012 was a great year for Belle Chevre—in addition to new products, they also added a new head of product management and marketing and launched a sales program called Team Belle. 2013 also promises greatness, with plans to continue expanding the family in the form of new products, a new creamery, and a new retail location.  “We have big things planned in 2013,” says Tasia Malakasis, president. “We cannot wait to announce more exciting news and products from our team of innovative and crafty cheesemakers.”

Instead of handing out cigars, Belle Chevre is celebrating by offering a monthly special to stores that want to showcase their family of products. To kick off the year, the first special is “New Year, New Chevre”, and it features the creamery’s newest products, goat cheese cheesecakes and DIY Cheese kits.  The first offer is good on orders placed through January 31. For details, email marti@bellechevre.com. To place a new order please email Kim at kim@bellechevre.com or call the creamery at 256.423.2238.

Belle Chevre has produced a variety of internationally acclaimed chevres since 1989 using time-tested European farmstead techniques.  The company is purposefully small, and each chevre is hand made in Alabama by its passionate cheese makers. Belle Chèvre cheeses have received numerous national awards from the American Cheese Society and the American Dairy Goat Association, and have been featured by Martha Stewart, Oprah, and everyone in between.
