Atlanta’s Gourmet Foods International, a major cheese distributor, bought a building in Kenosha for its Midwest center and hopes to expand there in the future.
The company wanted to establish a Midwest location and selected the Kenosha facility after searching the Chicagoland area, said Adam Tarantur, a principal at Podolsky/Circle CORFAC International in Riverwoods, Ill.
The company paid $2,625,000 for a 35,200-square-foot facility in the Business Park of Kenosha. It will open distribution operations there by the end of the year, said Tarantur, who represented Gourmet Foods in the site search.
