WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — Sabra® Dipping Company, in conjunction with Fencing in the Schools, today announced the winner of the "Sabra for Sabres" sweepstakes. The winner, Jodie Hill has chosen Marietta, Georgia's Dodgen Middle School, which her daughter currently attends, to receive the prize of a complete fencing program, including teacher training, student fencing gear, and a special visit by Olympic Silver Medalist Tim Morehouse. The Sabra-sponsored program will launch on January 27, 2014.
"We couldn't be happier to bring fencing to such an amazing mother and daughter and to a great middle school," said Fencing in the Schools founder Tim Morehouse. "My life changed when I was introduced to fencing in my own school and I've made it my mission to make sure other kids have the same opportunities I did. With Sabra's help we are now one step closer to achieving our goal not only introducing one million children to the sport over the next ten years, but also teaching them about proper exercise and healthy eating while we do it."
As the "Sabra for Sabres" winner, Dodgen Middle School will receive 30 sets of KIDS KIT Fencing Equipment from Absolute Fencing Gear, professional fencing instructor training from the FITS staff, a special demonstration by Olympic Silver Medalist Tim Morehouse, and a Sabra Hummus Healthy Snacks Prize Package.
"I was shocked when I found out I won this contest," said Jodie Hill. "I can't wait for my younger three children to have a chance to experience fencing in their middle school! Thank you so much Tim and thank you Sabra for sponsoring the contest."
"With Sabra products entering schools in lunchboxes and brown paper bags, we wanted to be able to make a difference outside the just the cafeteria," said Greg Greene, Sabra Marketing Director. "We are proud to partner with Tim and Fencing in the schools to achieve that goal, and we hope the students at Dodgen Middle School enjoy their new fencing program!"
