Eugene, Ore. — Production at Umqua Dairy's Roseburg plant is still at a halt, but milk is back on the shelves.
The new batch of Umpqua Dairy milk and juice comes from a different facility, but many shoppers are still wary of buying the local brand after a massive salmonella recall on Wednesday.
Many shoppers at Grocery Outlet were not afraid to fill their carts with Umpqua Dairy's milk Monday. In fact, they were anxious for the shelves to be restocked.
"My husband loves the buttermilk, and he just finished one last week and it didn't seem to hurt him," said Juanita Johnson.
Some shoppers say it's best to buy now while the company is still taking heat for a salmonella outbreak that sickened 23 people.
