SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Highlighting family, tradition and sustainable food production is the goal of American Dairy Association North East’s video series, “This American Dairy Farmer.” Since launching during the pandemic, the series has featured nearly 30 local farms and garnered more than 1.5 million views. The fall series will feature six new farms and is available on the ADA North East website and all its social media channels.
“As consumers make more and more food purchasing decisions based on production practices, this video series helps them connect with the farm families who are committed to providing a safe, delicious and sustainable product,” said ADA North East CEO John Chrisman. “Every farmer has a unique story to tell, and each will resonate in some way with consumers, which helps build trust and sales in dairy.”
Launching on October 6, the first episode in the fall series features Jody Neal and his son Jayden, who operate Orleans Poverty Hill Farm in Albion, N.Y. “My son Jayden has brought technology to make our lives easier and the cows’ lives more comfortable,” said Jody Neal.
Five additional episodes of This American Dairy Farmer will be launched weekly on the ADA North East website and social media channels, highlighting farms from New York and Pennsylvania. In addition to showing modern technology on dairy farms, future episodes will feature personal stories about farmers.
