Los Angeles, CA – Sun Valley Dairy, manufacturer of healthy dairy products, formally announced YoGreek™ – a non-fat Greek-yogurt and granola parfait. Even though the product has been selling in health and grocery stores for about six months, the company decided to announce it to the press today because of the positive responses from customers in social media channels.
According to a SVD spokesperson, “YoGreek is the first Greek yogurt with a crunchy granola parfait that is made using an authentic Greek-straining process. It comes in a uniquely convenient portable package with a spoon on board that enables customers to flip up the granola so it pours into the Greek yogurt compartment without making any mess.” The yogurt compartment contains non-fat, authentic Greek-strained yogurt that has been sold under the Voskos brand since 2005. The Granola compartment keeps the granola fresh until consumers choose to combine it with the Greek yogurt — thereby avoiding the granola from getting soggy or spilling.
Sun Valley Dairy decided to introduce YoGreek as a separate brand because research showed that granola is the most popular ingredient people like to add to their yogurt. “Many Greek yogurt lovers are busy people who are always on the go. They want a healthy and tasty meal or snack they can take with them and eat anywhere – at home, the gym, the office, on a hike, or in transit to and from work.”
Greek yogurt is a healthier form of yogurt that has grown in popularity over the past couple of years because it has twice the protein and more of the active pro-biotic cultures than regular yogurt.
Sun Valley Dairy is the first US-based manufacturer of Greek yogurt.
YoGreek can be found in Whole Foods, Ralphs, Kroger, and other popular markets in the U.S.
