SAN JACINTO, Calif. — Four of Southern California's largest family-owned egg farms have announced the formation of Southern California Egg Cooperative, a new egg marketing cooperative.
The four family-owned farms, Demler Enterprises, Pine Hill Egg Ranch, Demler Egg Ranch and Harmony Egg Ranch, are owned and operated by five brothers who are all members of the Demler family. The Demler's have been producing and selling locally-produced, high-quality California fresh eggs throughout Southern California for more than sixty years. This new cooperative was formed to market the family's eggs and to distinguish their eggs from the many eggs that are coming into California from other states.
"The recent national egg recall has created a renewed interest in locally produced, fresh California eggs," stated John Demler, the new cooperative's Chairman. He added, "As most people know, many of the eggs that are sold in California come from other parts of the country, some from as far away as Iowa. It is our hope that the new cooperative will help us to market our fresh, locally-produced eggs to customers and consumers who value the quality and freshness of these eggs from locally raised hens that are given the highest standards of care. We go to great lengths to care for our hens and they produce a great egg."
Southern California Egg Cooperative has enlisted the marketing services of NuCal Foods, an egg marketing cooperative based in Ripon, California, to assist them with their marketing efforts.
