Sargento Welcomes James Larkin & Tim Guernsey To Consumer Products Division

PLYMOUTH, Wis. – Sargento Foods Inc. announces the hiring of James (Jim) Larkin as National Customer Business Manager and Tim Guernsey as a Category Insights Manager in the West in the company’s Consumer Products Division.

Assigned to the Pennsylvania area, Jim will be responsible for achieving dollar volume, profitability, profit and loss contribution, and related financial performance objectives for assigned markets.

“Jim’s strong track record of building business sales volume and market share will contribute to the Consumer Products Division,” said Louie Gentine, CEO at Sargento. “We are confident Jim’s experience, knowledge and education will be a great addition to the Sargento family.”

Jim comes to Sargento from Acosta Sales and Marketing where he held the position of Senior Business Manager. He also held positions of Senior Vice President Grocery Strategic Business Units and Grocery Sales. In addition to his time at Acosta Sales and Marketing, Jim previously worked for Coca-Cola Foods, N.Y. and Carnation Company, Ind.

Jim earned his Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and operations management from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Mass. and a master’s degree in business administration from Pennsylvania State University in University Park.

The first in his position at Sargento, Tim will be responsible for providing customers with data and category insights. He will be instrumental in the team’s efforts to improve customer planning, sales execution and financial results for regional retailers in the West.

“Tim has a broad range of category management experience for various consumer packaged goods,” said Louie. “He is a seasoned professional, and Tim’s skill set will undoubtedly be a welcome addition to Sargento.”

Tim comes to Sargento from Advantage Sales and Marketing where he held the position of Category Manager for Unilever products in California. He also worked as a Category Manager with Miller Coors where he helped develop the company’s category management processes. In addition, he gathered sales experience as a Key Account Manager for retailers in California.

Tim earned his Bachelor of Science degree in management and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from California State University in Chico. He resides in northern California with his wife and their five children.
