Real California Milk Awards $5,000 To Ericson Elementary

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. & MODESTO, Calif. — Abigail Anguiano-Sosa, a
fifth-grader at Ericson Elementary in Fresno, Calif., received a Wii Fit system
and $5,000 for her school today as the grand prize winner in the second annual
Real California Milk Supports Real California Schools program. The award was
presented during a special assembly hosted by the California Milk Advisory Board
(CMAB), featuring appearances by local Dairy Princesses and a California dairy
producer. In addition to Anguiano-Sosas prizes, the CMAB also announced four
first-prize winners from Fresno Unified School District elementary schools that
will each receive a Wii Fit system.

Launched in fall 2009, the program provided education to Fresno Unified
elementary school students and their families about California dairy and the
benefits of a healthy diet, and encouraged them to collect Real California Milk
seals found on products like milk, butter and yogurt to enter to win. Families
from more than 25 schools collected nearly 3,000 Real California Milk seals
through December 2009.

The program offers a fun and engaging way for kids to learn more about the milk
and dairy products on their table, said Stan Andre, CEO of the California Milk
Advisory Board. Were happy to see so many Fresno teachers, students and
families take part in a promotion that is educational and helps support
struggling California schools and local dairy families.

The program distributed bilingual posters and newsletters featuring dairy facts,
games and coupons for dairy products with the Real California Milk and Real
California Cheese seals to nearly 50,000 elementary school students in the
Fresno Unified School District last fall. Each Real California Milk seal
collected from stores that carry products with the seal served as an entry into
the sweepstakes.

Dairy products made with California milk can be identified by the Real
California Milk seal, which certifies that the products are made exclusively
with milk produced on California dairy farms. California produces more butter,
ice cream, yogurt and nonfat dry milk than any other state. The state is the
second-largest producer of cheese, which is available nationally under the Real
California Cheese seal.
