Progressive Agriculture Organization held a press conference at Fleming Farms in order to discuss the problems that average dairy farmers are facing.
"Everyday is routine," Fleming Farms owner David Fleming said. "You have to do the same thing every day. You milk the cows, you have to feed the cows, you have to clean the barn."
Milking, feeding, and cleaning are just a few steps every dairy farmer makes in their busy day. Of course, daily tasks like those become difficult when money is a problem. The decreasing cost of milk compared to previous years has lead to the loss of gross income that the typical dairy farmer is seeing today. This means they need to cut some costs, which in return takes its toll.
