BATAVIA — O-AT-KA Milk Products has officially crossed the “Rubicon” in expanding its Batavia facility.
Officials from the Upstate Niagara Cooperative and O-AT-KA Milk boards celebrated the completion of a 200,000 square foot warehouse and material handling facility and 35,000 square foot equipment room on Monday. The new areas will add about 24 jobs and greatly expand the Ellicott Street Road facility’s capacity.
Code-named Project Rubicon, the $21 million project expands a long-standing business that produces bulk and ready-to-drink milk, cream, butters and emerging specialty dairy products using the bounty of more than 400 of the region’s dairy farms.
