RICHMOND, Va. — As Governor Ralph Northam signed a range of bills this past weekend that were passed by the now Democrat-controlled General Assembly, earlier this year, there was at least one bill that he vetoed.
Northam signed bills to expand absentee voting, remove photo ID requirements for voting, make Election Day a state holiday instead of Lee-Jackson Day, decriminalize marijuana, take action on predatory lending, allow undocumented students to receive in-state college tuition, and more.
But he vetoed a bill that passed the General Assembly with support from both parties.
