CEO Albert Straus, founder of the Straus Family Creamery, said his company doesn’t act like a commercial dairy or have adversarial relations with its milk suppliers. This family owned and operated business fosters congenial, supportive relationships with its farmers, employees and customers in ways that reinforce its brand promise.
Its mission is to help sustain family farms in Marin and Sonoma Counties and revitalize rural communities through advocacy and education.

There were 150 Sonoma County dairies in 1960, but only 25 today. Survival is one of our key motivations.”
