Denver cheese maker Leprino Foods Co. said Thursday that a New York dairy
accused by an animal
-rights group of abusing its cows no longer supplies one of its cheese plants
with milk.
Chicago-based Mercy for Animals, which works to expose animal cruelty and
promotes vegan diets
on its website, on Thursday released a video it said was covertly shot by a farm
worker at Willet Dairy
in Locke, N.Y. The video shows sick animals, cows being dragged, workers kicking
and hitting
animals, tails being cut off and horns being burned off.
The video aired on the ABC television network news earlier this week and are
featured on the
network’s website.
