Land O'Lakes Celebrates June Dairy Month

With more than 90 years in the industry, Land O'Lakes has a strong understanding of dairy. It is well known that dairy provides people with valuable nutrition, it's a great source of protein, and just one glass of milk gives people 25 percent of the calcium they need each day.

That's why Land O'Lakes is partnering with Dairy Management, Inc., and other industry organizations across the country to promote dairy during the month of June, which is National Dairy Month, and throughout 2012 with the "Dairy Delivers" campaign.

Land O'Lakes employees and members sustainably create high-quality, value-added products that provide important nutrition and feed a hungry world.

As part of this promotion, Land O'Lakes will launch a new web page, which you can access at www.landolakesinc.com/dairydelivers

The Dairy Delivers page will host a variety of member-focused videos and related information about the important role dairy plays in a balanced diet, in feeding the world and in being good stewards of the earth.

Land O'Lakes President and CEO Chris Policinski will participate in a panel discussion about dairy and food security on June 14 in Washington, D.C. The panel is co-sponsored by the Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and co-hosted by Washington Post and Slate, an online news and politics magazine.

During June Dairy Month and throughout 2012, Land O'Lakes will highlight the importance of dairy and recognize the 3,000 Land O'Lakes dairy members who provide 13 billion pounds of milk each year.
