Hawaiian Dairies Disagree Over Proposed Milk Price Rule Changes

A battle is brewing over the price of milk in the islands.

Big Island Dairy, the state’s largest milk producer, wants to sell its product at a price lower than the law currently allows to compete with mainland farms.

It also wants to expand business because 80 percent of milk consumed in Hawaii is imported from the mainland.

But another local dairy farm is not happy about that.
