BRATTLEBORO, VT. – Commonwealth Dairy’s Green Mountain Creamery brand of Maple Greek yogurt, has just won the Most Innovative Greek Yogurt category at the International Dairy Foods’ Milk and Cultured Innovative Product Contest.
Green Mountain Creamery’s Maple won first place for innovation in a hotly contested category that drew entries from all over the country. One of the largest contests dedicated specifically to reviewing and judging new dairy products, the competition reviewed hundreds of new items, as the Greek yogurt category explodes with growth and innovation.
Thomas Moffitt, President of Commonwealth Dairy, said ”We are incredibly excited by this news. Our Maple Greek yogurt; made with just two simple ingredients- nonfat strained Greek yogurt and pure maple syrup- is our best seller and more and more people are noticing!”
This past Fall Commonwealth Dairy’s Green Mountain Creamery Vanilla and Pineapple Greek yogurts took home both the first and second place prizes for best Greek yogurt in the country at the World Dairy Expo.
The Green Mountain Creamery brand adheres to a very basic philosophy: a Healthy, Responsibly Made Yogurt that Tastes great, and is Affordable! This is done by keeping it simple. The brand is made with only the things that make yogurt taste so good: Pure rBST-free milk, real fruit and berries (and in the case of maple- real maple syrup), and lots of live and active cultures. The result is Pure Vermont Goodness in Every CupTM. A portion of the profits from the sale of the product are returned directly to the farmers who supply the milk used to make it.
Commonwealth Dairy is a state-of-the art yogurt manufacturing facility located in Brattleboro Vermont. The Green Mountain Creamery line of yogurts contains no artificial preservatives, additives or colorings and is made with only the purest ingredients including rBST free milk. Commonwealth Dairy returns 5% of its net profits directly back to the farmers who supply its milk.
