Good Culture Launches 'Cottage Cheese, But Better'

Los Angeles, California – good culture will introduce a new line of organic cottage cheese products March 6-8 at the Natural Products Expo West Show in Anaheim, Calif. (booth #8519). In addition to classic cottage cheese, the line will offer both sweet and savory varieties, including strawberry chia, blueberry açaí chia, sundried tomato and kalamata olive, and will be sold in convenient, on-the-go 5.3-ounce packs.

good culture believes cottage cheese is an overlooked super-food and should be as widely consumed as yogurt. They have created a “disruptive cottage cheese line-up” that offers real organic ingredients and unique varieties.

“We were tired of searching for great-tasting cottage cheese that wasn’t loaded with thickeners, stabilizers, hormones and high-fructose corn syrup sweetened flavors, so we decided to make our own,” says co-founder Jesse Merrill. “Grandma’s cottage cheese/pineapple combo just wasn’t cutting it.” The founders wanted a good cottage cheese, made with organic ingredients that could be trusted – and so good culture cottage cheese was born.

“Cottage cheese is filled with nutrition and loaded with protein,” says co-founder Anders Eisner. “It has more protein than most Greek yogurts on the market, and it tastes delicious.”

In order to “fix” cottage cheese, the new product needed to have certain qualities: good culture delivers high protein (16-18 grams per 5.3-ounce serving); is certified organic and contains non-GMO ingredients; uses grass-fed milk from respected cows on sustainable family farms in Wisconsin; has probiotics; and comes in creamy, sweet or savory varieties.

The “good” in good culture doesn’t just refer to their cottage cheese. good culture has partnered with 1% for the Planet to support food transparency.

“Responsible farming practices and food transparency should be the standard,” Merrill says. “People deserve to know where their food comes from and how it got to their plate.”

Each time a consumer purchases a cup of good culture, 1 percent of the sale goes to a global network of nonprofit organizations dedicated to protecting the environment.

The good culture team has plans to offer other cultured food products in the future.
