“Consumer research shows that nearly 50 percent of adults would ask a dairy farmer about their farming practices, if given the opportunity,” said ADA North East CEO Rick Naczi. “Driving Dairy Discussions gives our farmers the tools to prepare for conversations about general and hot-button issues to help build consumer confidence in dairy.”
Driving Dairy Discussions is an ADA North East program that provides farmers the tools to answer consumer questions using a variety of communications techniques and practice scenarios, preparing farmers for face-to-face conversations.
“Attending the Driving Dairy Discussions training motivated me to take an active role in promoting our farm in our community and surrounding areas,” said Driving Dairy Discussions alumni and Speakers Bureau member Kelly Reynolds of Reyncrest Farm, Corfu, New York. “The training also introduced me to the Speakers Bureau program which has given me the opportunity to reach hundreds of consumers in our area.
“Our farm Facebook page has been developed and we are interacting with community members more than ever. In this dairy economy I believe that every consumer matters and through the Driving Dairy Discussions training I have been able to reach more people buying our product or thinking about buying dairy and do so in a meaningful way.”
