GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Dean Foods says it's closing is Meadow Gold milk-processing plant in Delta, citing a decision by grocery store chain City Market to open its own dairy.
The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reported Thursday (http://tinyurl.com/n2uwq89 ) the closure means the loss of about 38 jobs.
Ten positions from the Delta plant will be transferred to a distribution operation in Grand Junction 40 miles northwest. It wasn't immediately clear if those jobs were among the 38 being cut in Delta.
