Dairy Business Milk Marketing Cooperative Joins National Council Of Farmer Cooperatives

GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Dairy Business Milk Marketing Cooperative has joined the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives, the only trade association dedicated to promote the interests of America’s farmer cooperatives in Washington, D.C.

“We are thrilled to have DBMMC join NCFC and our network of cooperatives,” said NCFC President and CEO Chuck Conner. “In the current political atmosphere, having a seat at the table in Washington is vitally important. Through the direction and strength of our members, NCFC is able to provide a powerful voice on those issues unique to farmer co-ops.”

John Pagel, president of DBMMC’s board of directors, said joining the council will provide the co-op’s farmers with more influence on critical national policy items.

“DBMMC is proud to have joined NCFC to better represent our farms on issues such as trade and labor. Through our new collaboration with NCFC and their members, we hope to see better outcomes for farmers throughout our region,” Pagel said.

NCFC’s mission is to advance the business and policy interests of cooperatives and other farmer-owned enterprises.

In fulfilling this mission, the organization upholds four core values:

  • Farmer ownership and control in the production and distribution chain
  • Continued economic viability of America’s farmers, ranchers and the businesses they own
  • Stewardship of natural resources
  • Vibrant rural communities
