COOPERSVILLE, MI – Two dairy processing plants located side-by-side in a former General Motors Delphi plant will get a $2.4 million grant from the state to help upgrade their wastewater treatment operations.
The improvements, which total $173 million, will allow Fairlife LLC and Continental Dairy Facilities to create 52 new jobs as they expand production, according to the Michigan Strategic Fund, whose board approved the grant on Tuesday, March 28.
Fairlife, which employs 196 workers in Michigan, is owned by Select Milk Producers and The Coca-Cola Company. Fairlife uses a patented cold filtration process to produce reconstituted milk products with increased protein and calcium levels and decreased lactose and sugar levels.
