DEWITT, NY – Byrne Dairy is proposing a $24 million expansion of its Ultra Dairy plant in DeWitt that officials say would create at least 20 new jobs.
The bulk of the 42,000-square-foot expansion is designed to allow the plant to expand its packaging capability by stretching its packaging lines, said James Gosier, a lawyer for Byrne Dairy.
"Right now we use every square foot of the plant that we can,'' Gosier said, "and we need to make our packaging line longer so we can put through more product."
