Bid For Turner Dairy Expansion Rejected

MEMPHIS, TN – The Land Use Control Board rejected a Midtown dairy's bid to expand. However, the dairy still has a chance with the City Council.

The City Council gets the final say about the high sought-after piece of real estate that adjoins land locked Overton Square.

Turner Dairy won a $10 million incentive to stay and expand on Madison Avenue. Now the 80-year-old business is fighting a setback handed to it by the Board.

"This company was wooed and coveted by DeSoto County and other people to move, but they made the commitment to stay in Memphis," Nathan Bicks, attorney for Turner Holdings LLC, said.
