PHOENIX — The estimated 1.5M gallons of milk produced by Arizona dairy farms each day fuel a lot more than strong bones and healthy teeth! For nearly 50 years, Arizona Dairy Farmers have been helping make higher education more accessible by awarding $30,000 annually through the Arizona Milk Producers Scholarship Contest.
Arizona residents who are or will be enrolled in a post-secondary school (university, college or community college) could win one of three scholarships: The first-place winner will receive a $12,000 scholarship, the second-place winner will receive $10,000 and the third-place winner will receive $8,000.
"Arizona dairy farmers are committed to providing farm-fresh, high quality milk to Arizona families. They know milk and other dairy products fuel the body for an active, healthy lifestyle and are proud to fuel students' continuing education through this contest," said Tammy Baker, General Manager for Arizona Milk Producers.
To enter the scholarship contest, students need to upload a photo of their best milk mustache to Instagram while tagging @azmilkproducers and using the hashtag #ampscholarshipcontest. The photo must feature a dairy product, such as milk, yogurt or cheese and the student must also specify which weekly prize they want by using the hashtags #fuel, #fun or #food. Applicants are encouraged to be creative with their photos, showing how dairy plays a role in their day-to-day lives.
Starting Sept. 5, each week through Nov. 21, one weekly finalist will be selected based on their entry and will receive a $100 gift card for either food, fun or fuel, plus a pair of tickets to the FIESTA BOWL game on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016. At the Fiesta Bowl game, the top three scholarship winners will be announced.
Scholarship nominees must be Arizona residents eligible for the 2017 term or currently enrolled with a minimum of 12 credit hours at an Arizona university. Official rules, details and drawing dates are posted on the official sweepstakes at arizonamilk.org/scholarship.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Other people should not be in the photo. Open to legal residents of Arizona 17 years of age or older who are (or will be) enrolled in a post-secondary school in Arizona for the 2017 fall term (at least 12 credit hours). The contest ends at 11:59:59 p.m. on 11/21/16. Sponsored by Arizona Milk Producers, 510 S 52nd St Suite 101 Tempe, AZ 85281.
