Tyson Foods Delivers 50 Tons Of Chicken To Help Gulf Coast

Tyson Foods, Inc. is delivering more than 50 tons of chicken this week to the Gulf Coast to help fight hunger in communities affected by the recent oil spill. The donation was initiated by music legend Neil Young and his long-time friend John Tyson, chairman of Tyson Foods, and is being given in conjunction with special Gulf Coast concerts by Young.

AOAC Approves Foodchek-E. Coli O157 TEST For Beef Carcass Sponge Samples

FoodChek Systems Inc. is pleased to announce that the AOAC Research Institute/Gaithersburg, MD has approved the FoodChek-E. coli O157 test for use with Beef Carcass Sponge samples. This additional AOAC-approval, is consistent with USDA-prescribed testing procedures of beef carcasses, and complements FoodChek’s other AOAC approvals including 25g, 65g, 325g and 375g Raw Ground Beef (“RGB”) samples and N-60 Beef Trim samples. FoodChek-E. coli O157 is now AOAC-approved and USDA-accepted for all current U.S. beef industry beef sample test applications.

Food Lion, Tyson Donate Food To Second Harvest

The Food Lion supermarket chain and Tyson Food Inc. have given 36,000 pounds of chicken to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina. The donation was made in honor of Tyson Foods month-long 10th anniversary celebration of its support for hunger relief nationwide.
