Top American Pastry Chefs Return To Grand Rapids For International Competition

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Eight of the most talented pastry chefs and instructors will return to Grand Rapids on Saturday (4/21) to compete to represent the United States in the Coupe du Monde de la Patisserie (World Pastry Cup) in France.

Every two years, a search is conducted for America’s top talent in restaurants, corporations and hotels from coast to coast. Pastry chefs from across the country submit applications and portfolios in the hopes of becoming a finalist. The top eight compete Saturday at the Secchia Institute of Culinary Education at Grand Rapids Community College.

The competition is unique because the finalists must compete against each other to become part of the same team. The top three chefs will unite as one team representing the United States in the international competition January 29-30, 2013, in Lyon, France.
