WAYNESBORO – Local officials are sweetening the pot for an industrial bakery to move to the Wharf Road Industrial Park in Washington Township.
Franklin County Commissioners on Thursday informally endorsed tax abatements for a 20-acre lot east of Waynesboro. Hadley Farms Bakery has submitted a site plan to Washington Township.
The family-operated bakery has an option to buy the lot and is conducting its due diligence.
“It’s progressing as we’d expect,” said L. Michael Ross, president of the Franklin County Area Development Corp. “I think this (tax abatement) is going to make a difference with what transpires with this project.”
