The PopsyCake is going national.
Until this summer, the cupcake on a pretzel stick, created by Jessica Cervantes while in high school, sold at about a dozen South Florida locations. You could find the five flavors at Gardner’s Markets in South Miami, Pinecrest and Key Largo, Flamingo Road Nursery in Davie or at a kiosk in Miami International Airport, among other places, or order them by the dozens for kids’ parties, corporate events and other occasions.
PopsyCakes picked up a local following — even the Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade ordered them for his son’s birthday — but you had to be a bit determined to find them.
Not anymore. This startup story takes a sweet twist.
