SOLON, Ohio — The Schwebel Baking Co. facility in Solon will close this spring, affecting the jobs of about 200 employees, according to the city’s business development director.
Angee Shaker said Monday that the Youngstown-based company notified her and Mayor Edward Kraus that the Camp Industrial Road bakery was slated to close in May.
“They announced to their employees today that they would be closing due to consolidating,” Shaker said. “Employees will be given the opportunity to apply for jobs that are open in its other manufacturing and distribution facilities. There will be some outplacement that they will be made available to employees to help aid them in their job search.“
