Concord, N.C. – The PreGel AMERICA booth proved to be a show-stopper at the 93rd National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show (NRA) held May 5-8 at Chicago’s McCormick Place. The event featured over 1,900 exhibiting companies while attracting more than 61,000 registrants representing all 50 states and over 100 countries worldwide. PreGel’s on-site staff included representatives from across the U.S., PreGel’s headquarters in Reggio Emilia, Italy, Mexico, Canada as well as Brazil.
Encompassing 2,500 square feet, the PreGel exhibit was one of many highlights on the show floor and even provided attendees a glimpse into real-time gelato production showcasing 20 different gelato and sorbetto flavors from classic to modern. Featured product lines included ingredients for gelato, eight flavors of Tenero (soft serve), 5-Star Chef Pastry Select Pronto Line desserts as well as many new and exciting products that are being tested for the U.S. market outlined below.
Featured New Products at NRA 2012:
Coriandolina® Frozen Pop Coatings: These versatile coatings were showcased in PreGel’s frozen pop and cupcake display seen at right. This innovative product comes as a solid paste, is then heated into a liquid that hardens into a flavored frozen pop coating as it cools.
Evolution Glazes: The new Evolution Glazes were used on several frozen entremets in PreGel’s pastry showcase at right. With flavors ranging from citrus to chocolate and caramel, innovative pastry chefs will love the newly reformulated recipes. Each flavor is perfect for enhancing the appearance and taste of cakes, semifreddo desserts, mousses or single-serve desserts.
Caféttone™, Fruittone™ & Yogurttone™ Frozen Desserts & Beverages: A consistent favorite amongst attendees, these desserts and beverages offer a unique alternative to the traditional frozen concoction. Produced in an affordable tabletop machine with a state-of-the-art product mix called Tenerissimo™ the concept provides a variety of options to diversity any business in a simple and easy way. Tenerissimo™ products are instant, powdered mixes that only require the addition of water or milk to produce delicious frozen desserts & beverages similar to soft gelato.
Panini Gelato: A brand new concept for frozen dessert businesses seeking a novel approach to desserts. Creamy scoops of gelato or frozen yogurt are neatly spooned onto a golden, sweet bun combined with a savory or sweet Arabeschi® and/or topping, and then lightly pressed to perfection using a state-of-the-art machine, seen at right, to create Panini Gelato. Assembled on the spot, the bun takes the place of a cone, cup or cookie and is served either sliced on a plate, or as a full sandwich served in a wrapper for a more on-the-go solution.
Greek Yogurt Super Sprint: In 1985, PreGel created the first and most famous yogurt flavor in the world, Yoggi 30®. PreGel is now excited to announce the coming arrival of Greek Yogurt Super Sprint, the newest flavor to be added to our super sprint inventory. Greek Yogurt Super Sprint is a complete, instant powdered product for gelato or soft serve that always promises a fresh and flavorful Greek Yogurt experience.
Paper Cups: PreGel AMERICA's ServIce® line will soon feature paper cups! ServIce® will offer two lines of paper cups and lids, the YoCup for soft serve and frozen yogurt and the GSI Cup for gelato, sorbetto and ice cream. The cups are made in Italy, HACCP certified, recyclable and available in a variety of sizes and colors.
